Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 tbsp corn starch
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup cane syrup, (Lyle's Golden Syrup or Steen's Cane Syrup)
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 pie shell

Steps

  1. 1Melt butter and combine with flour and corn starch. Stir until well blended. Combine sugar with butter mixture in sauce pan and boil for 3 minutes. Let cool to about 120 degrees.
  2. 2Beat eggs and combine vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Blend well.
  3. 3Comine all ingredients and blend well. This may require a mixer since the sugar mixture will be thick. Fold in pecans and pour into medium unbaked pastry shell.
  4. 4Bake on cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
